iCloud deleted my new contacts

Im using iOS 7.1. I have 1855 contacts. With iCloud contacts on. My last backup perhaps was 1808 contacts. Viber doesnt show all contacts in this new ios (had no problems with ios 6).
When i turned off icloud in settings, and selected "keep on phone" or "merge" (cant remember which came first),), then all contacts were gone. I turned on icloud again. Now im back to 1807 contacts

Please help as i know you understand the indescribable feeling
