Hi all -- I have been experiencing a really, really annoying thing with autocorrect. I don't want to disable it because it's so practical. Does anyone have suggestions? Here's the issue:
Every time I type a word that is not in the phones dictionary, one of these scenarios happens literally 100% of the time.
1. If I make an honest typo and the autocorrect fixes it, when I go back to the word (maybe to add in something or anything else, as long as I touch in the vicinity of the autocorrected word), my phone pops up the original, typod word I put in. E.g. if I type teh dogs are happy and it is autocorrected to the dogs are happy if I decide to make it the tiny dogs are happy, a pop-up of teh shows up if I press nearby to add the new word.
2. If I intentionally type a word not in the dictionary and the autocorrect fixed it, when I go back to the word to change it back to the one I originally intended, no pop-up shows up. So if, for example, I type my cat mo is cute, it will be changed to my cat no is cute. (Note that I even have mo added in the keyboard shortcuts dictionary, but to no avail.) When I go back to alter it, nothing shows up. So I have to do the thing where I hold down my finger between the n and the o, then backspace and change the n to m, and hope that autocorrect doesnt change it again.
This odd thing happens literally every single time I type a word not in the dictionary. If it was an unintentional error, the pop-up always shows up with the original misspelling (even if I write teh, backspace it all, and change it to the, the pop-up with teh still shows up). BUT if I intentionally write a word not in the dictionary, autocorrect changes it and intentionally makes it as hard as possible for me to revert it back to the original form (no pop-up, sometimes RE-correcting it after I revert it ).
Does this happen to anyone else? Is there any possible solution for this? I have had two iPhones and it has happened on both of them, before and with iOS 7.
