I have an iPhone 3GS (I've got it in the beginning of 2010 I believe) and I have jailbroken it probably in 2012. It's still in iOS 5.
Nowadays many apps require at least iOS 6, and yesterday my app store suddenly changed language to its "original"; I tried to change it back to English but it didn't work at all: I was shown an error message containing the word "iOS", it was probably telling me to update it to the most recent.
Please, can someone tell me if it's worth to update my iOS to the most recent available (7.1.1)? If so, I have to be quick, because I've read somewhere that Apple is going to launch the next iOS soon and 7.1.1 will no longer be available. (I'm actually confused, I don't know exactly which one is recent)
When I jailbroke my current one two years ago, I did it in my old Macintosh (unfortunately it needs repair). Is it safe to do in my current computer (Windows 8)? How do I protect my phone from possible viruses and spyware/malware? How to do a backup safely?
Since my iPhone is 4 years old (and still working great, even after dropping it on the floor couple of times lol), will it crash easily or be laggy if I update to iOS 7 and jailbreak?
