Any feedback on this is appreciated...it's pretty confusing and annoying, so please forgive me.
Here's some info:
An MP3 I made in my home studio plays back great on my iPhone 5 OR iPad in all my listening spaces.
But when I play the same MP3 on my iPhone 3GS, the bass/low end on the song is corrupted in some way, the low end signals from the kick drum and bass guitar sound completely different. On the 3, the bass guitar is non-existent and kick drum is drenched in boomy reverb, nothing like my mix. It's so strange, driving me crazy!
Other songs on both phones sound fine.
I have the EQ "Settings" on both phones OFF. I updated the OS on the 3 through iTunes. No change.
I'm not too up to snuff on bit rates, etc, but I guess it's possible that my studio mix down to MP3 is using a too "sophisticated" or high rate for the 3 to handle. Or something like that.
