Without the battery - tried to restore it throught dfu mode( Home + power until it restarts and the volume up button until itunes sees it)- this is the only way i can get itunes to recognize the device. I can see it's restoring on the phone and in itunes(loading). Itunes finishes but the phone remains on loading. I believe this is an error that it can't check all the parts in the phone( in this case, the battery)
With a new battery connected - keeps showing the empty battery symbol when a button is pressed (doesn't matter which one). This happens only when it is connected to either pc or charger. Nothing comes on if it isn't.
Alternate try - connected the device with the battery disconnected, started the restoring process in itunes and poped the battery connector right in when it started to restore.
Before finishing writing this thread, the last option worked.
