I have a phone that I was sold (bricked) as a 3G. I thought it was a good opportuntiy to learn about these things.
I am able to install various IOS versions on it (3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.1, 4.2) as well a downgrade the BB with the intention of trying to get iTunes to agree to make it into a stock 4.2 iPhone 3G.
Anyway, the back has Model Number A1303A which everyone says is 3GS. It has an ordinary sim, not a mini sim. It has a Chromed metal back and bezel). The back has the A1303A written on it and could not take a sideways fitting min sim.
Apple Care serial checker on the serial I got from redsn0w says it is a 3G.
Anyone any idea what is happening here.
