So I was working on someone's iPhone over a year ago. I backed her data on my computer to transfer everything into her new phone. No problems there. This was back when it was still iOS6. I haven't given this backup much thought until today when I selected the wrong file to restore my personal phone. I waited until it was finished as not to brick my phone, and figured I'd just select the right file this time. That's when I noticed I needed HER iCloud password to restore MY phone?! Unfortunately, I had updated to the latest iOS7.0.6 and iTunes won't even allow me to restore it this time around.
I contacted the person and she said she deleted her iCloud account a long time ago. Password doesn't seem to work.
What should I do? I understand Find My iPhone is a great app to deter thieves, but why on earth would it block OTHER phones as well??
Any advice? Thanks in advance.
----------
If I put my phone in DFU mode and restore, would it still have Activation Lock once it's Reset? Since after all, it was never technically linked to iCloud. Just from the backup.
Should I chance this? Or will that turn my iPhone into a paperweight?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
