I had to send my iPhone 5 into Apple to get fixed so a friend let me have their iPhone 4 Verizon model. Unfortunately, the battery was bad so I called AppleCare and the replaced the phone for free, even though the phone is a year out of warranty (thumbs up AC!).
Got the phone, but I started to have problems with it. iMessage and FaceTime wouldn't activate. Called AppleCare, but with no phone support they can't do much (understandable) but the advisor recommended a DFU restore.
I waited until later to do the restore to iOS 7.0.4. I started iTunes, popped the iPhone into DFU mode, iTunes picked it up, and iTunes downloaded the firmware. Partway through the restore, iTunes popped up with an error and code which I (stupidly) didn't write down. Now the phone is stuck on the black screen with the Apple logo and progress bar with the bar between 1/2 and 3/4 of the way done. Should I try putting the iPhone back into DFU and restore it again? The phone was never jailbroken and I'm still within the 90 days that the store covers the phone for.
