I'm having a problem with my phone where any MMS attachment such as pictures aren't being stored.
* I can send pictures over regular SMS and iMessage
* I can see a preview of the picture that is sent to me (SMS or iMessage), but there is no picture when I preview the image.
* I had this problem on iOS 6.x and 7.0.4
* I had this problem before I jailbroke and after
After jailbreaking, I was able to open up the SMS.db and took a look at the "attachment" table. In the filename column, I can see that files used to be stored in "/var/mobile/Library/SMS/Parts/XX/XX/XXXX.jpeg", and then later iOS started storing them in "~/Library/SMS/Attachments/XX/XX/XXXXXXXXXXXXXX/IMG_6978.jpeg". After my problem started, I can see that they are being store in random locations that don't exist, such as in "/var/tmp/XXXXXXXXXXXXXX" or "/var/tmp/com.apple.MobileSMS/Media/XXXXXXXXXXXXXX/IMG_6685.jpg"
I tried deleting the corrupted entries in the attachment table, but that didn't help.
The sms.db is about 20MB, and there are over 34k messages. There are about 704 attachments.
Removing sms.db and letting the iphone recreate the database works, but I'm trying to keep all my messages and attachments.
Any help would be much appreciated.
