I have read a lot of reviews of the iPhone 5s. I have yet to come across any sort of test of the new "auto stabilization" feature that Apple promoted during the keynote and on their website.
Supposedly, the iPhone 5s automatically takes four photos in low light conditions and combines them to one sharp image.
It would be interesting to know, if this actually works. Am I really more likely to get a sharp image out of the 5s than the 5 in the exact same conditions with the same amount of hand shake (same ISO and same shutter speed of course).
Have any of you early iPhone 5s owners seen this feature in action?
One way to test it would be to mount a 5s and a 5 to something and go around shooting a series of photos at night simultaneously on both devices. The percentage of sharp photos from each of the devices would reveal if auto stabilization is actually working in real world usage. It sounds really cool, but I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes.
And yes, both cameras can (and will) shoot in ISO3200. I'm not talking about sensor improvements leading to sharper images. I'm talking about the ability to improve the percentage of sharp photos in low light purely as a result of "auto stabilization".
