Copying and pasting different numbers into Messages

I sometimes have to text a group of people. I have a list of their numbers, and currently I need to copy and paste each individual number into the text. That means a double tap on the number to bring up copy, a tap to copy it, and a treble tap to enter the number entry field, to bring up the paste dialog, and to hit paste.

Each group only lasts for a couple of sessions, and it seems like it might be too much work to create a group contact list. Am I wrong? Is there a way to copy and paste a group of numbers in one go?
