Hi,
I just discovered a neat little trick that I wanted to share with anyone interested.
Do any of you save your websites to the homescreen (I'm curious how people do that)?
Well have you ever come across that website that doesn't have a bookmark icon (or a good one) well here is how you can make your own.
Buy iconical (.99) there may be other apps that do this, but this one works well. Here is how it works, it utilized the URL scheme to create a second icon for an action or app, then you hide the original in a folder, but since you are creating a new icon there is no other one to hide.
Find an image that you want to use for the icon and save it to your camera roll and then use iconical's "open webpages" action, use your picture and designate the URL and then just save it to your homescreen like usual.
I'm long winded, but its really simple and only takes a few seconds.
The only thing that is annoying compared to directly saving the site, it does the weird open blank and switch to safari and then load verses the open Safari and load directly. It's only a fraction of a second delay, but it may annoy some people.
Hope this benefits someone!
It works for iPad too.
