Hi,
I've recently started having trouble with my iPhone 4. It's two years old, running iOS6, has a replacement battery from eBay as of ~1 month ago, and has recently started giving me grief.
2 days after installing iOS6 I pulled it out of my pocket in the afternoon (it worked normally in the morning), and it wouldn't turn on or respond to the Home or power button.
On connecting to my MacBook Pro the white apple logo appeared, and I reset it to DFU mode. It wouldn't complete the restore process and repeatedly gave Unknown error 2001 or 2006.
I took it to the local Apple store, and the "genius" told me there was likely a failure of some internal chip and offered to sell me a new phone. He took it in back to supposedly open it up, but he didn't seem to be gone long enough to do more than open the back cover and put it back on.
Not willing to give up I took it home and opened it up myself. I tried to blow any dust out, took out the battery, and reassembled. Miraculously it was able to restore when I connected it back to iTunes!
Since then my phone has "died" twice more in the intervening three days, and is fixed by me disconnecting, and reconnecting, the battery.
Anyone encountered this before or have suggestions? Not very convenient to have to dismantle my phone during the course of the day if it dies randomly on me.
