iPhone 4 video recording bug

Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone can help me. So today, I was filming an certain event with my phone and when I was done I naturally hit the recording button to terminate the recording. While the phone showed no issue during the recording, when I hit the button, the scene froze...but the timer kept increasing. I tried touching it several times, but to no avail. I then hit the home button and the phone did indeed leave the camera app.

I then entered the picture app and, while my recording was there, a minute of the end seemed to have vanished. The time of the recording was slightly over 5 mins, yet I had just under 4 minutes. This is very annoying as the main part of my recording was in this final minute. I went back to the camera app and the app was still messing up. I had to quit it to stop the issue. I have no idea why the bulk of the video is there, but a portion is missing.

I thought it might be a size issue and, granted, there wasn't a lot of space left...but there was enough. And normally this is prompted during the recording and the video ended. Yet there was no issue during my recording, as I said. No prompts, no freezes, nothing. It's quite frustrating. Does anyone know why this happened? How? Has anyone else experienced this? More importantly, is there any hope at all of getting this missing portion back? I did notice when playing back, that at the end the audio keeps playing, but the video isn't. Could it be there but not showing it? Any suggestions?

Many Thanks.
