Network tweak for iPhone 5 on Sprint

Hey peoples,

I saw this article online that states that some guy hacked or tweak the iPhone 5 on Sprint which could improve the phone's performance on 3G.

Have any of you guys seen or tried this out? I have Sprint and the 3G speeds are too slow to be of any use. I have an iPhone 4S though, otherwise I would have tried this myself.
