I'm thinking about swapping my AT&T Unlimited data plan to my iPad and my 3GB iPad plan to my cell. A rep at AT&T along with one at a AT&T store said that can be done. The drawback is my cell number will be the iPad's number.
I'm wondering if I can set up call forwarding before I do that so if anyone calls my current cell number, the call will be forwarded to the new number or if that would be canceled when the numbers are swapped between devices.
Anyone know?
Info for how to set up call forwarding -
On your wireless device, enter **21*, then the 10-digit number to which you wish to forward your calls, followed by #. For example: **21*1234567890# forwards your calls to the phone number 123.456.7890.
Push the Send, Talk, or Receiver icon.
A confirmation message is displayed on your wireless device indicating that Call Forwarding is turned on.
To change the number to which your calls are forwarded, first turn Call Forwarding off. Then, turn it on again using the new number.
