So, I had a malfunctioning power/lock screen button. I took it to the Apple Store and got it replaced. My last iCloud backup was last night, so in the heat of the moment, I thought I was good and reset my old phone before handing it over.
When I got home, that's when I remembered my pictures that I didn't store anywhere (except a handful that I uploaded to Facebook). A#$%$LSDKJFHASD  After researching, I know there is no point in contacting the store to see if there is something they could do.
Somehow, with my iCloud backup, photos prior to 2013 were still on the phone. My last iTunes backup file was February, so I got January and half of February covered.
If I've never used Photo Stream, and didn't have any computer backups prior to February, how did photos prior to 2012 still show up on my phone? Were those stored on the SIM card or something?
