Having issues syncing new iphone 5 with iTiunes 11

I got a new Verizon iPhone 5 yesterday. I set it all up and synced it with itunes. However while the iphone was syncing I noticed that in the sidebar section, there was no apps in the apps section...nor was there any cloud icon above the apps section like there is for music, movies etc. Keep in mind that I've owned previous Apple products in the past. I have also never experienced this isue with any of theem.

Anyways, I got on the iphone and manually re-downloaded all my previous apps that way. Afterwards I tried to sync the phone with itunes and everything synced excepted my apps.

So today at work, I installed two more apps to the iphone. I get home, pop open itunes and the two new apps begin to automatically download in the "App" section of itunes. But still none of my other apps synced to itunes.

I also noticed that when attached to the pc and connected to itunes, on the sidebar.."iphone" section....I hit the dropdown option and it shows ..movies, music, books, podcast, tones etc...but it does not show apps.

If anybody have any ideas as to how I can get this phone to sync my apps, it would be much appreciated

EDIT:

I may have fixed the issue. What I did was on itunes navigate to Settings>Devices>Transfer Purchases from (Whatever your iphone name is) and everything appears to be syncing over.

Edit:

I guess I'm still having the issue. After I did the above possible fix, I unplugged the phone from the pc, installed a random app. Then plugged the phone back up to the pc and synced it with itunes. The new app did not sync. I had to do the above steps again to get the app to sync with itunes.

So I guess the issue I'm having is that the apps is not automatically syncing. They only sync is I do the above steps.

Do anybody know how to fix this?
