Okay. Here goes. Phone was registering NO SIM on iOS 5.1.1, stock FW. (I later learned that this was because of the mobo shifting and I fixed that.) Well to fix it, I updated to 6.1.2 and jailbroke. Same deal. So I downgraded to 4.1, installed iPad baseband (I need to unlock eventually) and then downgraded to 05.13.04 baseband. This was the last time anything went well for me..
So then I cooked up a custom 6.1.2 IPSW with sn0wbreeze to preserve baseband, entered PWNED DFU, and updated. Everything installed nicely, no signs of problems. BUT all it would do was hang on the Apple logo.. Stays there for about five mins, gives a weird loading circle over the Apple logo, shuts off, starts over. I've tried downgrading back to 4.1 with both iTunes and redsn0w, flashing iPad baseband, downgrading again, and every combination of those.. Not a clue why it does this.
I should add that iTunes DOES recognize the phone normally! Weird. I'm now running the just-released 6.1.3 on baseband 05.13.08? No idea where that came from though, because I DFU restored to 6.1.3 with iTunes..? Pretty stumped atm. Any hints would be much appreciated.
