Iphone 4 Messages Help

So I have a problem with my Iphone 4 messages. I keep receiving blank messages from 3 of my contacts. I will delete all the messages and close the app and when I re open it, all the old messages are there. It's extremely frustrating. I've reset the phone but to no avail. Can anyone help me??
