iPhone 4 feeling a little sleepy?

Hey guys this week I decided to update to iOS 6 after holding off for a bit. I stayed with iOS 5.1 because when I upgraded an old 3GS it started having issues with WIFI and home share and a few other small bugs but once 6.1 came out it seemed the old 3GS worked fine so I upgraded my iPhone 4 using iTunes. The upgrade went well and the phone worked fine for about a week. Then I started getting random crashes and decreased battery life as well as sometimes not even being able to start the phone after it has crashed. Usually when it crashes it goes to the Apple logo then comes back on after a minute of loading. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, It will crash. I've tried restoring twice. Once I got an error from iTunes which after looking at Apple's website it says that its a -1 which is a Hardware error. I then took it to Apple since I could not get it to restore. After waiting a couple hours I was able to get a Genius to look at it in which they said it would probably only need a restore in which he did right there. After the restore the iPhone 4 came back to life only to start crashing again the next day. I don't know what to do as it is close to 2 years old and I really don't want to upgrade to the 5 as it's been out for at least 6 months. I was hoping my iPhone would last a few months more. I'm just puzzled as to why it is not working. It worked fine prior to iOS 6.1 and 6.1.2. So far I've been told to Jailbreak it and it should work fine. I really don't want to do that but if it will buy me a few more months than that's fine.

Thanks!
