Constant boot loop after restore iphone 3GS

Now this is a story all about how my life got.... no enough of that.

Hi guys i recently bought an iphone 3gs on ebay with a broken screen and cracked back with a view to selling it on for a profit, i managed to fix the broken screen and replace the cracked back fine but noticed that the person who sold it had left everything on it and i mean EVERYTHING (facebook logged in, pictures of the missus, paypal, emails, the lot) now i am a fairly honest chap so decided that i would "erase all contents and settings" before selling it on incase this fell into the wrong hands, the phone was also running fairly slow due to the high number of apps on the phone.

Anyway cut a long story short the phone was jailbroken (i never realised at the time) and after the erase it started doing stange things like it would load to the new phone activation screen then turn its self off then 15 seconds later it would do the same thing and so on. So i downloaded the latest itunes, put it in restore mode and tried a restore, this was fine and shows that the phone has been restored to 6.1 and set up as a new phone (in itunes), although the only problem is that the actual device just shows a constant black screen with the apple logo, it sometimes switches off and can be put in DFU/Restore mode.I have downloaded red snow and tried the exit boot loop mode as well as the just boot mode.

If anyone knows how it can be fixed i will be more than happy to paypal them some dough.

Otherwise i am starting to believe i have fried the motherboard....

Anyways if you have read this far you are a legend and any help would be greatly appreciated.
