I have come to terms with the fact that my iPhone 3GS (Running 5.1.1) has died forever. I have never dropped it in 2 years of owning it and it looks brand new, but I did use the phone 24/7 over the 2 years.
The other week the iPhone drained from 100% to 0% in the space of 5 minutes and would not charge again.
I had the battery replaced and because the new battery had charge in, the phone lastest until that battery died. After that the phone would not charge again.
I had the dock changed in the bottom to see if that was the problem and it still wont charge.
So what is actually wrong with it? I got given back my iPhone 3GS free of charge still with all the new parts in it. Can anyone help me explain the problem to it being dead.

(P.S: The sad part is I have had a free update to the 4S since July and I have held out until the iPhone 5 since then using my old Samsung D600.)
