I pressed the home screen button on my phone, as you do, slid the slider, and it told me I had 10% battery remaining, so I plugged it in, and then everything went wrong.
It showed me my lockscreen, except the top statusbar was missing, and then it showed the little spinning wheel (like when you respring or when it runs out of battery).
I tried charging it through my laptop, and through the wall, but it would rotate between the battery with a thunder bolt under it, and then the apple logo, and then the spinning wheel.
I brought it to recovery mode, and it shows an iTunes logo. I tried charging it like this for a while but it doesn't seem to help. The reason I don't want to restore it is because I bought a new laptop several months ago, and for some reason, iTunes doesn't have the automatic sync option checked, so my latest backup from my old laptop is in October.
During the cycle of battery, apple logo, spinning wheel, it will sometimes connect to the laptop for a brief 10 seconds or so, allowing me to access it on iTunes and iFunbox. I managed to play a song on iTunes from the iPhone, and with iFunbox, it thinks I don't have any "User Applications" installed, although the files from "General Storage" and a few other places I managed to check are still there. Unfortunately, it's not connecting to my laptop anymore right now. Maybe if I fiddle around with it a bit...
I have not installed any apps in about 3 weeks, and there has been no water damage whatsoever. I was receiving facebook messages this morning like normal an hour or so before I plugged it in to charge.
Is there anyway I can force the phone to connect to the laptop so I can at least salvage my photos? :apple:
